ABOUT ALMD
The Agricultural Land Management Division (ALMD), formerly Rural Physical Planning Division (RPPD) forms part of the Technical Directorate within the MOAF. The Division’s name was changed on November 2013.  The objective of the Division is to provide advisory services in soil and agricultural land use management in accordance with Government's policy. The aim is to assist farmers and other stakeholders to improve overall performance in crop production while protecting, maintaining and improving the available soil resources.
The Division will undertake new and expanded programmes aimed at monitoring, investigation and research as well as advisory services to help farmers solve problems associated with low yields in crop production.

Services will include:
STRATEGIC PRIORITIES 2014 -15
I5017025 Accreditation of the Soil Health, Plant Tissue and Water Laboratory.
Agricultural land management advisory services (including Soil Nutrient/Health Status subdivision assessment and land-use change.
Inspection and assessment of sites for quarry operations.
Assessment of mined out lands.
Implementation of project identified in agricultural land use policy.
Establishment of agricultural preservation zones.
Soil fertility and land use monitoring and management (subdivision and quarry assessments).
Soil health analysis (physical, chemical and biological components of the soil)
Management of soil and water salinity.
Development and maintenance a soil and land use database
Diagnosis and recommendation advisory services to farmers (soil, plant tissue, compost        fertilizer and  water samples).
Training research and extension personnel on the use of soil information.
Assisting government and other agencies involved in Planning Process by providing advisory services on land-use and change of use.
Assisting with post disaster agricultural rehabilitation programme.
